Member of Admin Team

Ann Beccia, our director, founder, and a member of the admin team, has been an educator since 1987. With a master's degree in education, certification in Pre-K-12 Special Education, and an administrative degree, Ann's experience spans roles as a teacher, curriculum specialist, and principal. She is passionate about creating a school community that nurtures children's natural curiosity and supports them in becoming independent, lifelong learners. Ann's commitment to fostering a nurturing and engaging environment is the foundation of our approach to early education.

Amanda Henry
Co-Director,
MSYC

Amanda Henry is the Co-Director of Madison School for Young Children, where she has been a dedicated member of the team since 2003. After graduating from the University of New England with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Amanda began her career in early childhood education with MSYC and has been with the school since.

Amanda is a State of Connecticut licensed K-6 teacher, and had she stayed in Maine, she would have been licensed as a PK-3 teacher as well. With a deep commitment to early childhood education, Amanda earned her Early Childhood Educator Director's Credential in 2022, marking a significant milestone in her professional development.

For 18 years, Amanda worked as a Preschool Teacher, shaping the lives of young learners with her passion for creating an engaging, nurturing, and supportive environment. Over the last 10 years, she advanced to the role of Assistant Director, where she focused on program development and team leadership. In 2022, Amanda transitioned into her current role as Co-Director, where she works alongside the leadership team to continue the school’s mission of fostering educational excellence and growth for both students and staff.

In her personal life, Amanda is married to Christopher Henry, and together they have one child, Nellie. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Amanda enjoys volunteering with local animal organizations and supporting her daughter’s lacrosse teams. She’s an avid reader and has a deep love for anything related to being near the ocean, which she considers a perfect place to unwind and reflect.

Amanda’s years of experience, combined with her dedication to the community and ongoing professional growth, make her a cornerstone of the Madison School for Young Children and a passionate advocate for young learners and their families.

Jillian MacKenzie
Co-Director
MSYC

Jillian is a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience in early childhood education. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Jillian has committed their career to fostering the growth and development of young children, creating nurturing and dynamic learning environments that support both academic and social-emotional development.

Since joining MSYC in the 2005-2006 school year, Jillian has played a pivotal role in shaping children's educational experiences. Her extensive experience, passion for teaching, and dedication to the well-being of each child have made her a trusted and valued member of the MSYC community. Jillian continues to inspire and guide young learners through creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate educational practices.

Jillian is a proud parent of four children, all of whom have gone through the MSYC program, an experience that has only deepened her connection to the school and its community. Dedicated to both family and education, Jillian understands firsthand the importance of a supportive, nurturing learning environment. With a strong belief in the power of early childhood education, Jillian is passionate about providing the same high-quality, enriching experiences for the children of MSYC that her children received.
